ROSE MARIE CHRISTINE NELSON (BERTHELETTE) Peacefully, at the Riverview Health Centre on February 20, 2002, with her loved ones at her side, Rose went to be with her Lord and Saviour. She will be deeply missed by her children, Bob (Cyndi) and his children, Bill and Christine, Marilyn Lamoureux and her children, Mark, Matthew and Courtenay, Susan Richardson (Luciano Veloso), Bruce and his son Justin, and son-in-law Jack Robb and his daughter Maggie; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are sisters, Yvonne Kern (Alvin) and Edna Nault; and brothers, Pat Berthelette (Eunice) and Aime Berthelette (Ione) brother-in-law Allen Nelson (Sharon) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Rose was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1991; daughter Joan in 1995; parents Pat and Christine; and five sisters (Frances, Victoria, Aurore (Babe), Leona and Laura). Rose was born in Marchand, MB, on January 22, 1926. Her sense of adventure took her to Atikokan, ON, where she met her beloved husband Walter. They later moved to Transcona where they raised their family. Both Rose and Walter believed in supporting their community and over the years Rose volunteered for numerous organizations which culminated in her being awarded a Governor Generals Canada 125 medal. Besides her children, one of Roses greatest joys was spending time at Lee River where many happy hours were spent sailing with Walter. Rose was a vital, sociable woman who continuously made new friends wherever she went to play bingo. Though left paralysed and unable to speak by her stroke a year and a half years ago, she continued to endear herself to her caregivers. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m. at the Transcona Memorial United Church at 209 Yale Ave. W. with Rev. Carol Fletcher officiating. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the aides and orderlies of St. Boniface Hospital and all the staff at Riverview Health Centre with a special thanks to Diane and Linda for their kindness and support. It will be lonely here without you, We will miss you more each day, For life will not be the same for us, Since youve been called away. We will always remember the way you looked, The way you walked or smiled, All the things you did for us, Will be with us all the while. You always did your best, Your heart was true and tender, You lived your life for those you loved, And those you loved will remember. Transcona Funeral Chapel 222-6677
