PHILLIP MORRIS SINCLAIR (BLUMS) Phillip Morris Sinclair was born on May 16, 1949 in Shoal River, MB. Phillip passed away on February 19, 2002 suddenly in Winnipeg, at the age of 52 years. Phillip is survived by his wife Beatrice Mary; sons, Thomas, Aaron, Phillip and Robert; daughters, Agnes (Ron) Constant and Mavis; stepsons, Gilbert (Ramona) and Douglas; stepdaughters, Ronalda (Will), Jeanette (Will), Kendra and stepdaughter Bennita; sisters, Doreen (Alex) Brass, Rubina (Fred) Stevens, Doris, and Bella Moreau; brothers, Roderick (Vitaline), Willard (Betty-Ann), Nicholson (Emma Jane), Nicky, Norman and Charlie; sisters-in-law, Caroline and Velma; stepbrothers, Howard, Rene, and Richard; stepsisters, Helen and Lilly; and 11 grandchildren. There are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and special godchild Justina Cook. Phillip was predeceased by his parents, Maria and John William Kematch; sisters, Mina and Bena Cook; brothers, Lawrence, Delbert, Douglas and Robert (Jim) Sinclair; aunties, Mary Thomas, Isabella Sinclair; grandparents, Thomas and Jemima Sinclair; stepfather and stepmother Angus and Harriet Cook; stepbrother Sandy Cook; brother-in-law Augustus; and sister-in-law Albina. Phil was a wonderful man who enjoyed family life, playing guitar and singing Cree gospel songs while at the same time attending the Aboriginal Educational Centre. He will be fondly remembered for his warm and courteous manner and always for his ability to make people feel happy and welcome. Phillip was an entertainer, NADAP worker and band councillor for Sapotaweyak Cree Nation. He was alcohol and drug free for the last 16 years of his life. He always mentioned this during these times of grief and sorrow, passing this message on to others. He will be sadly missed by all his family, relatives and friends. Each and everyone of us will remember Phillip in our own special way. Wake service was held on Wednesday, February 20 from 7:00 p.m. to midnight, with prayers at 7:00 p.m., at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg. Wake services were held on Thursday, February 21 and Friday, February 22 at the Sapotaweyak Cree Nation Community Hall. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Church, Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, Pelican Rapids, MB, with Rev. Michael Chartrand officiating. Interment to follow at the St. Andrews Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Lavallee, Peter Walker, Lambert Cook, Larry Genaille, Donald Brass, Francis Stevens, Samuel George, Dennis Turner, Jonas Chartier, Sterling Ranville, and Eugene Moore. All of Phillips friends and relatives too numerous to mention, please consider themselves as honorary pallbearers.
