MARIAN JOAN PETURSSON March 3, 1923 - February 20, 2002 On Wednesday, February 20, 2002, Marian Joan Petursson (nee Sanderson) passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Victoria General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Petur; parents, Russell and Lillian; sister Ruth; brothers-in-law, Oli and Al; sister-in-law Margret; and nephew Roggi. Joan is survived by her sons, Jeff of Toronto, Drew (Adrienne) of Winnipeg and Barry (Joan) of Edmonton; grandson Roland of Salt Spring Island, BC; sister-in-law Maude of Winnipeg; niece Carla (Rick) of Matlock; nephew Craig (Sylvia) of Republic, Washington; great-nephew Justin (Kori) of Kamloops, BC; and many friends and other relatives who meant so much to her. A true lady, a good friend and neighbour and a real softie at heart, Joan loved her three sons above all else. Jeff, Drew and Barry are eternally grateful that Joan was their Mom. The family thanks Dr. Cameron Lowden, Dr. Vincent Taraska and the nurses and staff on the third floor of Victoria General Hospital for their kind care and comfort of Mom. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey St. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who so desire may make a donation in Joans memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3A 1P6, or the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3C 9Z9.
