ROGER DAVID STINE Peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2002 at the Pinawa Hospital, Pinawa, MB, Roger David Stine passed away. Roger is survived by his loving wife Helen; sons, Sid (Karen) and Ed (Andrea) grandchildren, Mark, Jennifer and Daniel; as well as brothers, Gordon (Mary), Wendell (Jean), Arthur (Sue), and their families; and his brother-in-law Don (Frances) and family. Roger was born on September 20, 1927 in Penfield Township, MI and grew up on the family farm. He attended school in Bellevue and at Michigan State University. He moved with his family to Lac du Bonnet in 1958. Roger enjoyed all sports especially baseball, he organized and coached youth baseball in Lac du Bonnet. He enjoyed beekeeping, gardening, carpentry and the outdoors. He retired from the Tanco Mining Corp. in 1992. Before that he worked at the Wendigo Resort, drove a school bus and built the home in which his children grew up. He was a member of the Lions Club and a charter member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross. Roger was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. His caring nature, humour and zest for life will be remembered by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 27 at 1:00 p.m. from the Lutheran Church of the Cross, Lac du Bonnet, MB, with Pastor Ingthor Isfeld officiating. Interment will be in the Lettonia Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the church one-half hour prior to service. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Rogers memory may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Cross, Pinawa Hospital, or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit No. 10, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
