GILBERT A. REDEKOPP Suddenly, on Monday, February 25, 2002, Gilbert A. Redekopp passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 74 years. Gil was predeceased by his parents, Abram and Justina Redekopp; three brothers, Menno, Fred and Lawrence, and his sister Esther Sackman. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife Nancy Allison Redekopp (nee Hastings) his son Kim and wife Peggy, their children, John and Katie; his son Alan and wife Deborah and their children, Laura, Nicholas and Victoria; and his daughter Rhonda Morrissette and her husband Vern and their children, Suzanne and Sarah. Gilbert is also survived by his sisters, Martha Klassen and her husband Jake, Hertha Meyer and her husband Dick, and Ruth Klassen and her husband Frank; his brothers, Art, Victor and his wife Muriel, Ray and his wife Blanche, and Harry and his wife Martha; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gil was a retired engineer and Captain in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was actively involved in the community through Rotary Club International for several years, as well as with the Westwood Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed singing with The Happy Homesteaders. He took great joy in researching his family history. He loved his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved life and lived everyday with verve, purpose and generosity. He will be dearly missed by family and all who knew him. Rest in Peace. You are loved. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 28 at Westwood Presbyterian Church, 197 Browning St., with Rev. Ian Shaw officiating. Viewing will be held one half hour prior to the service time. Reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8.
