Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM SAMEC On Monday, February 25, 2002 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Mary, Bill will be lovingly remembered by his children, daughter Annette (Rob) Lowe, granddaughters, Robyn and Bre; daughter Petra, grandsons, Aleks and Kalle Limit and son Greg. He is also mourned by sisters, Stella (Nick) Synychych and Mary (Tom) Hallem, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter Agnes Faith and his parents, Anna and Harry Samec. Bill was born in Winnipeg on August 4, 1918. He grew up on Alfred Ave. and graduated from Isaac Newton High School. He began taking radio courses and served four years in the army as a signalman. After his return to Winnipeg, he met Mary at a dance at the Palladium and they were married August 30, 1947. He worked at the CNR for 37 years as an electrician at Symington and Transcona until his retirement in 1982. Dad loved camping in the Whiteshell and at Grand Beach, radios, shortwave and keeping an eye on the weather (cloudy and cool). Our family enjoyed many road trips to Saskatchewan and parts of Canada and the States. He was a kind and thoughtful man and we will miss him dearly. Our family thanks the nurses and staff at St. Boniface Hospital who cared. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 28 at 1:00 p.m. with viewing at 12:00 noon at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
