Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA WOWK Peacefully, in the presence of her family, at St. Boniface Hospital, Olga passed away into eternity after a sudden and unexpected illness on Saturday, February 23, 2002. Born in Ukraine on February 17, 1922, she immigrated to Canada with her family in 1929. She was employed with Pauline Chambers for 41 years, retiring in 1986. Olga was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, the UCWLC of the parish, and the Apostleship of Prayer; financial contributor to the Church; volunteer to the IHMS Fidelity Social Club, the St. Nicholas Perogy crew and Holy Family Nursing Home. She was an example of true selflessness, always there when called upon. Olga will be lovingly remembered by her sister Anne Chyzy; nephews, Nick (Emma), George (Judy), all of Arborg, nephews, Brian (Debbie) of California, Ronnie (Donna) of Winnipeg, Ken Lichti of Ottawa; foster child Astaiza B. Jefferson from World Vision; godchildren, Betty Walsh of Ontario, Brian Wowk of California, Flavian Balagus of Steep Rock, MB. She was predeceased by her father Konstantin (1945) mother Ewdokia (1977) brothers, Nick (1946), Paul (2001) sister Mary (1985) and niece Marge (2002). Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave., with a Basilian Father officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund. Olga and the family wish to thank friends and co-workers of Pauline Chambers for their support and prayers, visits and mass offerings; staff of Seven Oaks Unit 4, 5th Floor and St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care, 8th floor.
