EVELYN A. FINNEY (nee SPENCE) On February 24, 2002, following a lengthy illness, Evelyn Finney, passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at 69 years of age. Evelyn was born in Pierson, MB on May 17, 1932. She moved to Transcona in 1958 where she raised a family of seven children. She later enjoyed many years of working as an apartment block caretaker. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and followed them closely. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters and her sons, Gordie and Kenny and infant daughter Michelle. She is survived by her longtime companion and best friend, Julian, mother-in-law Mildred Finney, sons, Ronny (Gail), Robert (Cindy), daughters, Debbie (Norral), Brenda (John) and Sandra, daughter-in-law Noreen as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., with Pastor Peter Cain officiating. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
