CATHERINE MARY (KAY) HOOPLE Kay passed away peacefully, at her residence, Fred Douglas Lodge, on February 25, 2002. She was 90 years old. Born Mary Catherine Mazur in Winnipeg on July 23, 1911, Kay had three brothers, Mike, Tony and Nick; and one sister Anne, all predeceased. She married Michael Hoople on February 27, 1937. He and her beloved daughter, Donna, passed away in 1980 and 1990 respectively. Kay leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Kelly Shackelton and her husband Rob of London, ON and Darcy Kowalyshyn of Wetaskiwin, AB; great-grandchildren, Robbie, Christopher and Devin; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 820 Burrows Ave. with Very Rev. Fr. Jaroslaw Buciaro officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Kays memory to CNIB, Manitoba Division, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, R3G 9Z9 or to CancerCare Manitoba, P. O. Box 2248, Station Main, Winnipeg, R3C 9Z9.
