He was born on February 12, 1933 in Winnipeg. Predeceased by his parents, Mathilda and John; grandparents, Elizabeth and Daniel; uncles, Max and Bill; aunt Helen. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 50 years, Isabel; daughters, Jeannie (Harry), Donna (Ron), Karen (Glenn) and Kelly (Dave). His pal of 12 years Sport; grandchildren, Shelley (Karen), Daun (Paul), Glenn (Wanda), John Jr. (Nicole), Lori (James), Leigh-Ann (Scott) and Joni (Ralhf) 12 great-grandchildren, newest addition his namesake Jaicey John Daniel Meier; sister June; uncles, Carl (Isabel), Dave (Marion) numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Dad was raised by his grandparents and educated in West Kildonan. He attended Victory Elementary and graduated from Centennial High. He worked as a drywall taper until his retirement in 1998. His work was always of the highest quality and was very hard to let go so he continued on with the Seniors Job Bureau part-time. Dad was a Golden Age Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 23 and thought very highly of his fraternal brothers and sisters. Dad always gave of himself whether it was his time or his handyman expertise to anyone who asked. The love of his life was his wife. Before he left us he told us how much he loved our mother and that she was as beautiful today as the day he married her. His children and all his grandchildren were a sense of great pride to him. Dad valued family above all things and was never happier as when his brood gathered together at the trailer in Woodlands, MB. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Seven Oaks Hospital 5U2 and St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Teams for the excellent care and comfort given to him on his final journey home. Dads final wish to be cremated has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 23, 131 Dagmar St. on Tuesday, March 5, at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Richard Kunzelman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. A great man left us all too soon, Our love for you is eternal, We will truly miss you. Until we meet again dad. BARDAL FUNERAL HOME 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474
