They got engaged in October of 1946 and then married in Yorkton, SK on March 22, 1947. Matt went ahead and found a job with Carter Motors in Winnipeg in 1948. He moved Mom and Ed into the city shortly after. He worked for Carter Motors for a total of 49 years until 1997 and then worked for Murray Chev Olds until his retirement in July of 1999. Matt loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Past hobbies were baseball, bowling, fishing and golfing. In more recent years you would find him enjoying a game of crib, going to the casino and tending to his garden. We sure enjoyed it when he worked side by side with Mom to help make perogies and meatballs plus make his great headcheese.
