EDNA MAE WEAKLEY (nee BYE)
Born: Feb 15, 1912
Date of Passing: Feb 26, 2002
Offer Condolences or MemoryEDNA MAE WEAKLEY (nee BYE) February 15, 1912 - February 26, 2002 Peacefully after a brief illness, our beloved mother passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 90 years. She was pre-deceased by her husband James in 1992; parents, Robert and Florence Bye; sisters, Hazel (Harold) Morton and Doris (Chester) Allan. She is survived by daughters, Doreen (Bob) Huck of Cranberry Portage, MB, and Norine (Stuart) Pringle of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Christine (Lloyd) Penner of Edmonton, Richard (Diane) Huck of The Pas, MB, Andrew and Leslie Pringle of Winnipeg; and great-grandchild Richard Huck Jr. of The Pas. She was joined in marriage to James Henry Weakley on April 7, 1935 and resided all her life in East Kildonan. She was an avid potter and member of the Elmwood Seniors Club. Her hand-made ceramic flowers were beautiful and won her many ribbons. At our mothers wish, cremation has taken place and a small graveside service will be held in the spring, with family and friends. Many special thanks to Norma and Cliff Hagglund and son Craig for their love and kindness to our mother. Also to the staff of GH4 at the HSC for their compassionate care. Flowers are gratefully declined, however, friends who so wish may make a donation to the Mennonite Central Committee or to a charity of your choice. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the mornings hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die. "We will love you and miss you forever. Rest in Peace." Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
