MOLLIE ELLETT (nee BATEMAN) Mollie Ellett passed away peacefully on February 20, 2002 at Victoria General Hospital in Victoria, BC with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, May Tanner. Mollie will be lovingly remembered by Jack, her husband of 59 years; son Barry (Dinah and her children, Paul and his wife Anna-Marie and Sarah) of Victoria; daughter Janie of Pleasanton, CA; daughter Joanne Johnson (David) of Winnipeg and grandchildren, Lori Paige (Gary), Kristi Johnson (Jason Tugwell) and Scott Johnson. Also survived by great-grandchildren, Cole and Zena Paige. Mollie and Jack were married in 1943 and spent 29 happy years raising their family in their home on Churchill Drive. They were active members of Rosedale United Church (Churchill Park United Church). They were well known in the community for their family business, Elletts Restaurant, from 1950 until they retired to Victoria in 1979. Mollies life centered around her family. She was known for her wit and sense of humour and her love of animals. Her favourite pastimes were gardening, reading and following sports. Cremation has taken place. There will be no service, at Mollies request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3.
