HELENE KEHLER 1921 - 2002 On February 28, 2002, Helene Kehler left us to be with her Lord and Saviour and her beloved husband Henry, who predeceased her in 1980. Our mother was born and raised on a small farm in the Russell, MB, area. While working at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, she met and married the man she was devoted to for 33 years. Northern Manitoba was home for mom and dad as they raised their children on Manitoba Hydro projects and later settled in Steinbach in their retirement years. Mom enjoyed playing softball and was a pitcher for the nurses team called the "Panhandlers." She was active in curling well into the years where she would often say, "Ive got to start acting my age." In recent years, various health problems slowed her down but she continued to be a loving mother and caring person to all that knew her. Leaving to cherish her memory are her sons, Harvey (Jeananne) of Red Deer, AB, Michael (Ruby) of Steinbach, MB, and daughter Candace (Ray) Mutcheson of Morden, MB. Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Bradley Kehler, Brian Kehler, Troy Kehler, Brock Mutcheson; and special nephews, Doyle and Brent Stoesz. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Stacey and Lindsay, grandson Michael and niece Candace Joyce Sullivan. Funeral services will be held at Cornerstone Bible Church, 290 1st St., Steinbach, MB, on Sunday, March 3, 2:00 p.m. Viewing at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 2, 7:00 p.m. Interment at Memorial Cemetery, Steinbach, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons, or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to: Birchwood Funeral Chapel 150 Penfeld Dr.; Steinbach, MB 1-888-454-1030 or 1-204-346-1030
