ERNEST MORT It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our much-loved husband and father. Ernie passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital after a brief but well-fought illness on February 28, 2002. Ernie was born on December 12, 1923 and was predeceased by his mother and father, Ernest and Margaret Mort. After serving in the R.C.A.F., he began has career in April 1948 with C.P. Rail, starting in the Passenger Department and after 41 years of service retired from C.P. Intermodal. Ernie met and married Bernice Peters in 1950 and they celebrated their 50th anniversary on May 20, 2000. He and his family enjoyed many trips and their weekends at the cottage in Sandy Hook, MB. Ernie leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Bernice; his son John and daughter Miriam. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 4, at 1:30 p.m. at Westminster United Church, corner of Maryland and Westminster, with Reverend Robert Campbell and Mrs. Rose Ferries officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave., and a reception will be held in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. If friends so wish, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 500-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB., R3C 1L8, Westminster Church Foundation, 745 Westminster Ave., Winnipeg, MB., R3G 1A5 or to a charity of choice.
