DEBORAH INEZ AHLGREN (KEYOWSKI) October 7, 1950 - February 28, 2002 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend Deborah Inez Ahlgren of Winnipeg, MB on Thursday, February 28, 2002 at the age of 51 years, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Debbie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 30 years Ted Ahlgren; sisters, Evangeline (Jack) Domes of Weyburn, SK and Emillia (Terry) Cipywynk of Edmonton, AB; nieces and nephews, Denise (Bill, Ashley, Ryan) Parrell, Kimberly (Joe, Adam, Joshua) MacNeil, Quienten (Dawne, Ethan) Domes, Blair Cipywynk and Garrett Cipywynk, as well as numerous relatives and friends Debbie was predeceased by her mother and father, Doris and Emil Keyowski. Debbie was born on October 7, 1950 in Canora, SK. She was raised and attended school in Porcupine Plain, SK. She graduated from high school in 1967 and moved to Weyburn, SK. There she worked at the Saskatchewan Hospital for one year and discovered her love for nursing. In 1968, she moved to Winnipeg where she met and married Ted Ahlgren and made numerous friendships. Debbie completed her registered nursing program in 1982 and worked as a nurse caring for others for 18 years. Debbie and Ted purchased a cabin near Pinawa, MB in 1986. They worked together over the years to build it into a place they used to get away from the city and enjoy the fishing, nature and peacefulness. Debbies family and her friends were very important to her. She loved hosting huge gatherings that included lots of food, love and laughter. Debbie had a love of travelling. She and Ted travelled throughout the USA and Canada with Las Vegas being her favourite place to visit. She made many memorable trips to Vegas with Ted, her sister and brother-in-law and her friends. Debbie loved animals. Her favourite pets include Tina, a cockatiel and Thea the cat. A celebration of Debbies life will be held on Monday, March 4, at 11:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church at 2528 King Edward St., Winnipeg. Interment will follow at the Brookside Cemetery. A reception will be held at the church following interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Debbies memory to the Canadian Cancer Society (MB Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9 or any charitable organization of choice.
