Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA SKORODENSKI (nee PIHULAK) Passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 28, 2002 at Concordia Place Care Centre. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Anna leaves to mourn and cherish her memory two daughters, Jean and Helen Whitlaw (Bob) two grandsons, Craig Whitlaw and James (Joanne) Whitlaw; four great-grandchildren, Mark, Michael, Quinn and Hannah; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Anna is survived by her sister Jean Lancaster of Burlington, ON, and brother Harry Pihulak of Timmins, ON, sisters-in-law, Gladys Pihulak of Winnipeg and Evelyn Pihulak of Portland, OR; and brother-in-law Jim McLennan of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1976 and by four brothers, Bill, Emil, Alex and John; and three sisters, Sadie, Alice and Mary. Anna was a loving caring person with a hidden sense of humour, a great cook who made sure there was always a cookie in the house for visiting grandchildren. She loved her home and took great pride in her gardens, her flowers and her beloved houseplants. She was always busy sewing, quilting and hooking rugs which were her relaxing times. In later years she spent many happy hours knitting for "Share Xmas". Annas greatest joys were visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, while following with interest the lives of Winnie, Wayne and Warren Skordenski, members of her extended family. Special thanks to the staff at Concordia Place Care Centre for all their loving care. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 232 Kennedy St. Interment will follow in the All Saints Cemetery, 4535 Main St. Pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Mark and Michael Whitlaw; grandsons, Craig, James, and Bob Whitlaw; and brother-in-law Jim McLennan. If friends so desire donations may be made in Annas memory to Concordia Place Care Centre, 1000 Molson Pl., Winnipeg, MB, R2K 4L5, or to a charity of ones choice.
