HELEN MOREFIELD (nee WIZNURA) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Morefield on Sunday, March 3, 2002, at St. Boniface Hospital. She will be deeply missed by her guardian angel, dearest friend, and constant companion Nick Nowosad; her beloved sister Mary (Rex) Craig, and Lynda, Jason and Brent all of Coquitlam, BC; as well as her many friends and family. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Julia Wiznura; and husband George. Helen was born on October 24, 1921 and lived in Winnipeg all of her life. She was a kind, caring and thoughtful person with a youthful spirit who enjoyed entertaining, shopping, carpet bowling and traveling to the States. She worked at A. & M. Hurtig Furs for 40 years, retiring in 1986. It was her first and only job. Through the years she kept in constant touch with many of her former co-workers and valued their friendship. Helen belonged to the Weston Legion, the ANAF Unit, 60 Garry St., the Pioneer Senior Citizens Club and the St. Vital Legion Over 65 Club. The family could never find words to express their gratitude to Nick Nowosad for his kindness, nurturing and caring of Helen during her illness. He was truly sent from God and Helen wanted us to be sure to mention this when the time came. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Rev. Fr. Gerry Ward officiating. Helens ashes will be laid to rest with her parents at All Saints Cemetery. Many thanks to Dr. F. Crow and the nurses at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248 Station Main, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9 or to a charity of your choice. Rest in peace, dear Helen We will miss you. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
