ALICE BABIUK 1926 - 2002 Alice Babiuk peacefully passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Monday, March 4, 2002 at the age of 75 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Onufrey and Maria Hnybida; sister Anne Marchuk; brother Don Haines and sister Nellie Strilkiwski. Aalice leaves to mourn her loving husband of 59 years, Metro; son Brian (Irene) grndson Brian (Kerry) great-grandson Alexander; grand-daughter Lori (Chris) Schellenberg. Mom was born in Ukraina, MB, where she was educated and met her loving husband Metro. Following their wedding in 1943, they moved to Winnipeg. Some of her more memorable days were spent working at the Empire Hotel. Mom was a hard worker and set an example for her family to follow. Mom loved her family and was a devoted grandmother. In her retirement years she remained very active by becoming involved at various clubs, namely Poplar Seniors Club, Dufferin Dance Club, Holy Eucharist Seniors Club and St. Ivans Suchavsky Perogy Club. The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of S.I.C.U. and C.V.T. at the St. Boniface General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8 or to CancerCare Manitoba, Box 2248, Station Main, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, March 6, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, March 7, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 505 Watt St. at Munroe Ave. with Rev.
