Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILDA MARIE BEST Suddenly on Monday, March 4, 2002 Wilda Best of Stonewall, MB, formerly of Cayuga, ON, died at Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg. Lovingly remembered by her children, Barb and Alex Wilson of Burlington, ON, Mary Best and Marc Whitehead of Stonewall, MB and Robert and Karen Best of Caledonia, ON and her grandchildren; Trevor and Shelley Wilson, Ian Wilson; Cassandra, Kathryn and Gregory Best. Wilda is also remembered by her brother Don (Ruth) McArthur of Fordwich, ON and her special sister Anne Louise Vick. She was predeceased by her husband Ken, her parents and her brothers, Albert and Keith. Wilda was born on January 21, 1927, second child of Bill and Ruth McArthur. In 1946 she married Ken Best. They lived in several cities in southern Ontario, finally settling in Cayuga in 1966. While raising her children was her prime focus, Wilda was also involved in her community. She was a 4H leader for several years. She worked at the Cayuga Library and was involved with the Cayuga Stamp Club. When her husband died in 1988, Wilda continued to live in the family home in Cayuga until she moved to Manitoba in 1999 to live with Mary and Marc. During that time she made many new friends, including the staff in the Dialysis Units of St. Boniface and Seven Oaks Hospitals, her home care workers and those who shared in the driving three times a week for dialysis. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7 in Stonewall United Church at 2:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 9 in Cayuga United Church at 11:00 a.m. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Stonewall United Church, or a charity of choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
