MILDA VOLIGNY DOUGLAS Milda Voligny Douglas, of Regina and Winnipeg, died March 3, 2002, in Winnipeg. Beloved wife of Robert Gordon Douglas, "Vol" is lovingly remembered by her son Peter of Erin, ON, and Peters children, Sean and Kathleen. Also survived by her daughter Mary Louise Butts, her husband John, and children, Douglas, John Jr. and Andrew, of Rome, NY. Predeceased by her brother George Robertson of Toronto. Voligny joined the RCAF Womens Division in 1941 where she served in an administrative capacity, stationed in Ottawa, until shortly before the wars end. She was greatly interested and involved in volunteer work with and for children. She was also an active member of St. Georges Anglican Church, Crescentwood, for more than 40 years. Vol was a member of the Junior League, Winnipeg, a life member of St. Agnes Guild, Childrens Hospital, and served on the boards of Childrens Home of Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Day Nursery. She belonged to the Winnipeg ArtGallery, Antique Arts Club, and the Winnipeg Winter Club. A memorial service will be held in Thompson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, on Wednesday, March 6 at 2:30 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
