Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHOLGER OLAF (HAL) WALBERG March 30, 1913 - March 4, 2002 The family is saddened to announce the passing of Uncle Hal at the Ashern Personal Care Home on Monday, March 4, 2002. Hal was born March 30, 1913 in Winnipeg and was the last surviving member of the Walberg family. He was predeceased by his daughter Evelyn and her mother Irene; parents, Olaf and Carolina. Brothers and sisters, Hugo, Harry (Rita, Loy), Hilding, Elsie (Arnie), Ethel (Bill, Charlie) and Dagmar; nephew Bill and great nephew Billy. His legacy, rich in Swedish tradition, has been left to his grandchildren, Wayne, Judy, Cindy, Kim and their families. As well as brother-in-law Ed Rich, nieces and nephews, their families and many friends. Uncle Hal was an integral part in the lives of Bill, Ruby, Rhonda and Billy. Lyn, Wilf, Candace and Steven. Brenda, Casey, Kayla and Shara. Brian, Heather, Mercedes and Alan. House painting/interior decorating, trapping and cooking were his livelihood. It was gardening, fishing, hunting, trapping, berry picking, reading and entertaining family and friends that enriched his life. These things are evident in, and influenced his painting, poetry and storytelling. Uncle Hal was a unique individual and a true gentleman! Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 in the Grahamdale Community Hall with Rev. Canon Fr. J. Ronald McCullough officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Burial to follow in the Hilbre Cemetery. Pallbearers are Wilfred and Steven Carbonneau, Brian and Alan Rich, Casey Borotsik and Eric Linde. The family acknowledges and thanks doctors, nurses and staff of Ashern and Eriksdale Personal Care Homes for the loving care given to Uncle Hal. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hals memory can be made to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild in care of Runa Mangl, Ashern, MB, R0C 0E0 to be used in the Activities Department of the Ashern Personal Care Home.
