DENISE VANDERDONCKT May 23, 1925 - March 4, 2002 Peacefully, at Park Manor Personal Care Home on March 4, 2002 Denise passed away. Denise was predeceased by her husband Hector; her parents, Theophile Gijsel and Josina Verdurmen; her brother Omer; her youngest daughter Maureen Berardi. Denise will be dearly missed by her children, Francine, Luc (Donna), and Ann (Carm) her grandchildren, Mark, Tasha, Vincent, Andrew, Erica, Eric and Alanah, as well as her great-grandson Mackenzie and Dino Berardi. Denise was born in Zelzate, Belgium on May 23, 1925 and enjoyed a career as a Montessori School Teacher. In 1958 her sense of adventure took her across the ocean to Canada with her husband Hector, where they began a new life together in Winnipeg. Denise had a very strong faith in God. One of her greatest loves was reading. She also enjoyed the outdoors, walking and cycling, and spending time with her family and friends. She particularly enjoyed visiting Northern Manitoba. Denise had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. The family will receive friends at a memorial service, which will be held on Thursday, March 7 at 1:00 p.m. in the P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion St., Winnipeg, MB. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses and aides at Park Manor Personal Care Home for their kindness and support in caring for Denise.
