Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERNON JOHN GOOD On Wednesday, March 6, at Victoria Hospital, Vernon Good passed away at the age of 84 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years Sylvia; sister Mary Deugo of Calgary; son Alan and wife Joanna; daughter Lorraine OLeary and husband Bill; grandchildren, Jennifer, Alison, Erin, Melanie and Stephen; as well as great-grandchildren, Nathan and Cale. Vern was born in Winnipeg, on March 11, 1917. He grew up in the West End on Lipton Street, and attended Daniel McIntyre, where he was actively involved in track and field. As a Canadian officer on loan (CANLOAN) to the British Army, Vern was assigned to the Second Devonshire regiment. He served with distinction from the invasion of Normandy to the occupation and partitioning of Berlin. Vern met his wife Sylvia in 1939, and they were married in 1943. During their life together Vern spent much of his career as a manufacturers representative, covering most of Western Canada. His love of driving and travel extended into his personal life. Vern and Sylvia travelled extensively throughout Canada and the west coast of the U.S. Vern was a kind and caring person who touched all who knew him. He thoroughly enjoyed his visits to the Salisbury House and the RehFit Centre. Vern was very proud of his family, and during this last year, had several occasions to spend time with his loved ones, for which we are truly thankful. At Verns request, cremation has taken place, and a small private gathering will be held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
