Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILY ALVINA ZIESKE Peacefully at the Misericordia Health Centre on March 7, 2002, Emily Alvina Zieske passed away at the age of 91 years. She was born on October 24, 1910 in Greenwald, MB. Emily was predeceased by Emanuel in 1977; parents, Daniel and Hulda (nee Truhn) brothers, William and Gustav; and sisters, Helen Henning and Hermina (Minnie) Litke. Left with many memories are her family, Lil Zieske, Coraleigh Tymchak (Calgary), Shirley (Ed) Querengesser (Edmonton), Wes (Liz) Zieske, along with nephews, nieces and many other relatives and friends. Emily loved to cook. She began in various fishing camps, operated the canteen at the Fort Garry Curling Club and owned "Emilys Catering". Her expertise was gladly shared at McClure Place. For 20 years she actively participated in the many activities there. During her lifetime she enjoyed bowling, curling and travelling, which included and earned her a "Pond Hopper" pin for attending 10 World Curling Silver Brooms. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. at McClure United Church, 533 Greenwood Place, Winnipeg. Rev. Hugo Unrah officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Emilys memory to McClure United Church or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff on D4 Health Sciences Centre and 6th Floor staff at Misericordia Health Centre for all the special care given to Emily.
