MARY AILEEN HOVEY Suddenly on March 4, 2002, at her residence, Mary Aileen Hovey (nee Scott) at the age of 88, beloved widow of Charles Mansur Hovey. She was predeceased by her brothers, Bill and Jack, and sister, Margaret. She is survived by her son Richard (Lynn) of Montreal, QC and her daughter Kathleen (Edwin Keeling) of Halfmoon Bay, BC; four grandchildren, Chris Allan (Susan Brooks) of Ottawa, Mark Allan (Leslie) of Vancouver, Tim Hovey of Puerto Rico and Karen Hovey (David Jaynes) of Ile Perrot, QC; and one great-grandson Austin Jaynes. A teacher in Elementary Schools and Elmwood Business School before marrying in 1938, she was also a longstanding member of the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir, Womens Committee of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the Professional Engineers Wives. She was an active volunteer with the Manitoba Handicraft Guild, Winnipeg Art Gallery, Meals on Wheels, and was active with the United Church Women and church choirs. Her children would like to thank her many friends and relatives for their care and support over the years. Cremation and burial have taken place in the family site at Brookside Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Crescent Fort Rouge United Church, Nassau at Wardlaw, with a reception to follow in the church hall.
