LUCIE RIVARD (nee CORMIER) Aged 69, of Delta, BC, widow of Rene Rivard. Peacefully, on Sunday, February 24, 2002 at Delta Extended Care Hospital Vernon, BC, Lucie passed away after a lengthy illness at the age of 69 years. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, daughter Carol Anne (Aria), grandchildren, Renee, Rachel, Natalie, and Shayan; son Michael Rene and granddaughter Samantha Carolann. She is also survived by her two brothers, Maurice Cormier of La Salle and Laurent Cormier (Claudette) of Okotoks, AB; her sisters, Lorraine (Gerry) Arbez, Alice (Norbert) Chammartin from La Salle, Henriette (John) Eyolfson from Thunder Bay, Ont., Laurette (Larry) Manson from Domain; and a sister-in-law, Beatrice Cormier from Vernon, BC. She also leaves to mourn two sister-in-laws, Anita Cormier of Winnipeg and Judy Champion (Larry) of Hamilton, ON; three brother-in-laws, Armand Rivard of Richmond, Quebec, Paul Rivard (Simone) of Winnipeg, and Earl Rivard (Gaye) of Florida, U.S.A. Lucie was predeceased by her parents, Edouard and Blanche; her brothers, Laurent, Noel and Denis. Lucie was born in LaSalle and after her marriage to Rene, they settled in Fisher Branch where they operated a commercial business. There they raised two beautiful children, Carol Anne and Michael Rene. In 1975, they semi-retired in Vernon, BC. Lucie was a caring and loving person. She touched the hearts of many people. In her generosity, she was always ready to help anyone in need. Sleep in peace Lucie, you have earned your heavenly reward. Cremation has taken place. In order to celebrate her life, a memorial service was held at the La Salle Church for her immediate family. Father Armand LeGal officiated. If friends and family so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2. The family would like to thank the dedicated staffs at the Delta Extended Care Hospital in Delta, BC, the Vernon Extended Care Unit and Noric House, both in Vernon BC, for their kindness and loving care given to Lucie over the years.
