LIONEL (LYON) BOHEMIER 1908 - 2002 On Thursday, March 7, 2002, Lionel passed away peacefully at the Foyer Valade at the age of 93, leaving those he loved. Lionel was born August 5th in St. Norbert, MB. Since 1953 Lionel (Lyon) has worked and exhibited in various department stores and galleries in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Mexico, Japan, China, the U.S.A., Australia and Canada. Travelling developed his natural talent and inspired him in his beloved art. He supported himself with his talent, never with a grant of government. Lionel was of a kind and generous nature, with a great sense of humour, always ready to share his gifts and talents with his fellowman regardless of title, position or wealth. He believed in the humanity of Gods creation and loved nature. He was always ready to give a helping hand with whoever he met. Material values was not his main goal in life, he trusted in Gods Providence, which always sustained him. Fluent in French, English and Spanish, life did fulfill most of his expectations, and his dreams became reality. Death has a bright side for Christians, the end of life is not really the endits a new beginning. Believers will be "satisfied" when they open their eyes in heaven. This world lost a dear friend, also a Canadian artist of international renown. He was predeceased by his parents Jean-Marie and Florida (Leclair) brothers, Victorin, Celestin, Florent, Ulysse (James), Ephrem, Eloi; sisters, Marie Jeanne Savoie, Sr. Aline, s.g.m. (Grey nun) brothers-in-law, Antonin Savoie, Theodore Hart, Wilfred Gillis; sisters-in-law, Louisa Baron, Aurore Sindon, Gilberte Gagnon. He leaves to mourn his passing sisters, Eveline Hart, Marie-Therese Gillis and Fabiola; sisters-in-law, Claire Marcoux, Aurelie Duguay, Rita OConnor; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is gone to join the others and is Home at last. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Rev. Father Sam Argenziano at the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave., on Tuesday, March 12 at 10:00 a.m. The service will terminate at the church. Interment of Lionels cremated remains will take place in Assumption Cemetery in the spring of 2002. Sincere thanks are extended to Drs. I. Mohammed, Frank Albi, and Monica Fernando, and the staff at the Foyer Valade for the excellent care he received from them. Thanks also to Maurice Leclair from Florida, Erwin Thomas from Montreal and Ramiro Herrera for the many services rendered. Those wishing to do so may make a donation in Lionels memory to the Foyer Valade, 450 River Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2M 5M4, or to a charity of ones choice. "Aurevoir au ciel." "We loved him in life; let us not forget him in death." "Te encontraremos en el cielo." LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220.
