JOHN SHUE PING TOYE 1938 - 2002 After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of John, on March 7, 2002, with the family at his side. He is survived by his devoted wife Josette of 37 years; daughter Joyce; son Jeffrey; sister Shirley (Don) Wong; cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Jung Hong (Sam) and Toi Wa. In 1965, John graduated from the University of Manitoba from the Faculty of Engineering. He joined the Province of Manitobas Water Resources Branch in 1969, where he was involved in the flood damage reduction program and was responsible for the operation of the Winnipeg Floodway. He retired in 1994 after 25 years. Johns passion was to go fishing with his children and friends. He enjoyed watching football, listening to classical music, and playing bridge. He spent countless hours on his computer and enjoyed helping his friends with their computer problems. John will be missed by Gracie, whom he rescued from the Winnipeg Humane Society.
