MARGARET ECKSTEIN November 17, 1907 - March 8, 2002 Margaret Eckstein passed away on March 8, 2002. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Philip; her parents, Henry and Dorothy Petrie; brothers, Jack, Johnny and Henry Petrie; her sister Minnie Garbutt and nephew Ken Petrie of British Columbia. Margaret is survived by two sisters, Karoline Petrie and Kay Spanier of Winnipeg. Mom is lovingly remembered by her son Marvin and daughter-in-law Helen; three grandchildren, Tobie Sandquist (Ron), Brett Eckstein (Pennie), and Hollie Ogibowski (Roy) nine great-grandchildren, Sarah, Lisa, Ashley, Rebecca and Matthew Sandquist, Keenan Eckstein, Vanessa, Monica and Nicholas Ogibowski. Mom came to Winnipeg from Russia as an infant and lived most of her married life in Elmwood. Mom was a wonderful homemaker who treasured her family. She will always be remembered for her strength, compassion and generosity. The family greatly appreciates the help of the caring staff at the Donwood Personal Care Home. A memorial service will be held in the Joshua Chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Avenue on Wednesday, March 13 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to the Donwood Personal Care Home, 171 Donwood Dr., Winnipeg, MB R2G 0V9.
