Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALD H. KRANTZ April 6, 1931 - March 8, 2002 On Friday, March 8, 2002 at Concordia Hospital, Gerald Krantz, beloved husband of Sonia passed away at the age of 70 years. Besides his wife of 43 years, he will be sadly missed but never forgotten by one daughter Donna (Darcey) Berkowski of Winnipeg; two sons, Kevin (Elaine) of Thunder Bay, ON, Ryan (Kristen) of Winnipeg; four grandchildren, Justin, Karli, Bryan and Colton and many other relatives and friends. Gerald was predeceased by his father Henry; his mother Tillie; and sister Carol Szewczyk. Gerry grew up in Waldersee, MB, the only son to Henry and Tillie Krantz. At the age of seventeen, his sister Carol was born. When not working on the family farm, his spare time was spent on the baseball field. It was at the ball diamond where he met his future wife and soul mate, Sonia. They married and moved to Winnipeg where Gerry spent over 20 years in the automotive field. Besides raising three children, he also participated in many sporting events, including baseball, curling and golf. Dad retired a few years earlier than planned, but he enjoyed his time with his family and friends on the golf course, fishing or as a guest at the cottage of a close family friend and neighbor. We often gathered Sunday afternoons to watch the ball game and enjoy dinner. "Crunch" was very proud of his family and we are all grateful for the time spent together. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Concordia Hospital. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. in Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., with Rev. Bruce Gelhorn officiating. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba at 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg or a charity of your choice. "You are now at peace and will forever be in our hearts" Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331
