MADELINE CATHERINE MEYER (nee SKELLY) Suddenly, at home on March 9, 2002, Madeline Meyer passed away at the age of 55 years. Madeline was predeceased by her father John Skelly and her brother Robert Skelly. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Edward; son Jay and his wife Elisabete and their cat Jasper; her mother Marjorie; brother Jack and his wife Flo; nephews, Paul and Daniel; as well as many other relatives and friends. Madeline was employed with Winnipeg School Division No. 1 as a Teachers Assistant at Cecil Rhodes School since 1985. Cecil Rhodes was like her second home, she enjoyed her time spent working with the children and cherished her many friendships made over the years. She spent many hours volunteering her time at the school working on school productions. Camping, travelling, gardening and shopping were among her other passions. Madeline and Edward are members of the Sparling United Church and in her earlier years at the church she taught Sunday School and she also worked in the church office. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in care of the Cecil Rhodes School, 1570 Elgin Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 1C2, as tokens of remembrance. The Madeline Meyer Memorial Fund is to be established at a later date. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow the service.
