Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE YORK February 27, 1924 - March 11, 2002 Peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2002 George passed away at the Grace Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 43 years Isabel; his children, Jody, Kevin (Darlene), Audra (Mel) Peters; his brothers and sisters, Evelyn, Bob (Peggy), Dave, Blaine, Heather; along with many nieces and nephews. George served in the Second World War as a Tail Gunner and was also a member of the Ex-Gunner Association. George was a longtime employee of the M.L.C.C. He will be always remembered for greeting his family and friends with a joke and a drink. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Grace Hospital for their professionalism, care and compassion given during Dads stay. We would also like to thank Dr. Sheila Domke, the staff at Golden Door, and Coghlans Ltd. Special thanks to Kim, Lorraine and Heather for their support. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Viewing will be held one-half hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
