Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILBUR LEIB It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather Wilbur Leib (aged 72 years) on Thursday, March 14, 2002 at Central Park Lodge. He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret Ast and John Leib; sisters, Ivy Leib, Marion Mcdonald, Anne Lowe, Hilda Cherry; brother Fred Leib and his beloved wife of 32 years Velma. Left to cherish his memory are daughter Gayle Ulasy (Allan) sons, Gerry (Linda) of Winnipeg, Murray (Deborah) of Turner Valley, AB; eight grandchildren, Kristen and Ashleigh Ulasy, Barry, Tony, Kyra, Kalen, Evan and Erick Leib; sisters, Rose Tanner and Elva Hotchin and numerous nieces and nephews. Also his special friend Trudy Obendoerfer. Dad was born July 4, 1929 in Edenwold, SK. He graduated from grade 12 in Regina, moved to Winnipeg to work, where he met and married his wife Velma in Winnipeg on March 24, 1953. Dad worked from 1948 till 1980, mainly at A.E.I. Telecommunications with a three-year term with the Kellog Firm on the missile sites in the US, also Co-op Dairy and New Flyer Industries. Dad enjoyed music of all types and sang with the German choir for 13 years. He had a real knack for gourmet cooking, gardening, and building, as well as a flair for languages. Other favourite pastimes were fishing, walking, hiking, travelling, and spending time reading and doing crosswords. We will miss our time with him very much. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22 with Pastor Don Genaille officiating. Interment and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
