Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS P. WYLIE January 31, 1915 - March 10, 2002 Thomas Wylie passed away at Dryden Hospital on March 10, 2002. Tom was born in Coatbridge, Scotland. Having lost his father in the First World War he came to Canada with his mother Jean as a young boy. She remarried Jim Whelan and Tom had two stepsisters, Charlotte (Lotti) Quesnel and Margaret Westmacott. All have predeceased him. As well Tom was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Peggy) Quesnel in 1968. Tom spent his early youth in Winnipeg and worked in various mines in Manitoba and Ontario during the 1930s and 1940s. During the 1950s and early 1960s he worked in the elevator maintenance business and resided in Grosse Isle, MB. He arrived in Ignace, ON in the early 1970s and was a supervisor at Mattabi Mines. In his retirement from the early 1980s onward he operated an Amethyst and Mineral Shop in Ignace. Tom always maintained his interest in prospecting and was clearly happiest while out amongst the rocks and trees of Northern Ontario. Tom is survived by four children, Thomas Wylie, Linda Sinclair, Wendy Wylie and Kathy (Larry) Naven all of Winnipeg. As well there are three grandchildren, Linda (Colin), Cameron and their two children, Christopher and Quinn, Laura Krawchuk (John Gorman) and their two children, Catlin and Cody and John Krawchuk of Kamloops, BC. The family wishes to thank all those who have shown forbearance and extended kindness to Dad over the years. In compliance with his wishes cremation and a private remembrance have taken place.
