HENRY RATTAI Peacefully on March 16, 2002 Dad passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 90. He will be sadly missed by daughter Karen; son-in-law Brad; and granddaughter Trina. Left to cherish his memory, sister-in-law Lonny Rattai, Winnipeg; sister-in-law Mary Rattie, Fraserwood; and sister Martha Pearce (Roger) of Arborg; as well as his nieces, nephews and friends. Henry was predeceased by his wife Mae in 1996 and by his brothers, Ralph, Alex, Fred and Gus; and sisters, Tina, Millie and Pauline. Dad was born in Fraserwood, MB February 8, 1912 to Gustav and Seraphine. At 17 years of age he left the homestead to work for other farmers, in those early years he also worked in bush camps cutting cordwood and drove a truck for Modern Dairies. Quite by accident he became an electricians helper and worked at Central Patricia Mines for nine years. He continued to work in the Yukon as an electrician at other mines. When he came to back to Winnipeg he worked for Claude Neon and later at Stewart Electric. He married Mae Neumann May 30, 1953. In 1962 Dad took out a contract to cut timber in Grand Rapids. He later worked as an electrician at Academy Electric and before retiring he was employed at Versatile Manufacturing. Dad was a loving, gentle man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and whipping his opponents at checkers. One of the highlights of his life was a special salmon fishing trip. Dad was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church and remained active in his congregation. He spent many hours cutting grass and helping with electrical problems when he could. The apple of his eye was his granddaughter Trina, who will have many fond memories. Service will be held on Tuesday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing at 1:00 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 400 Rouge Rd., with Pastor Carol Janke officiating. Interment at Chapel Lawn. Pallbearers will be, Gordon Otto, Ernie Otto, Art Otto, Vernon Otto, Lorne Otto and Warren Otto. Honorary pallbearers, Art Rattie, Gerry Otto and Gil Hack. If friends desire donations may be made in Henrys memory to Messiah Lutheran Fireside Room Fund or to a charity of your choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
