Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATHIAS FRUEHM November 12, 1913 - March 16, 2002 In the early morning at the Good Samaritan Person Care Home in Edmonton, AB, the Lord called Mathias home. Mathias was born November 12, 1913 in Windau, Roumania as the only child of his parents. His father predeceased him when he was only one year old. In 1938 he married Sofia Fuhrmann with whom he shared over 64 years. He and his family came to Canada in March 1954 and made Winnipeg their home In 1998 he suffered a stroke from which he never fully recovered. In 1999 he and his wife moved to Edmonton into a seniors home beside the Church of God. In January 2001, his wife reluctantly admitted him into a personal care home where he remained until his passing. Mathias leaves to cherish his memory, Sofia, his wife; and his three children and their families, Mathias (Adele), Hermann (Marilyn) and Elizabeth (Siegmar) Seida. Opa will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Heidi and Kurt, Linda and Wesley, Glenn and Carrie, Mark, Christian and Becky, Clayton, David, Roy and Karina. Also be his great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Allyson, Matthew, Angela and Kevin. True greatness does not come to those Who strive for worldly fame; It comes instead to those who choose To serve in Jesus name. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 22 at 1:00 p.m. in the German Church of God, Edmonton with Pastor Harry Klinger of Winnipeg, officiating. Arrangements entrusted to: Serenity Funeral Home, Edmonton.
