Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES FREDERICK LARCOMBE Peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, March 16, 2002 at Rosewood Lodge, Stonewall, Charles Larcombe, aged 95 years of Stonewall, MB. Born September 19, 1906 in Clanwilliam, MB. Dad spent the years of his youth on a homestead at Stewart Lake near Camper, later the family moved to the Marquette-Woodlands region. He then moved to Stonewall where he started employment and he and Amy raised their family. Dad was a qualified mechanic at the Model Garage, later a bulk oil agent with Texaco and Gulf. He enjoyed a long retirement where he had a chance to experience many activities that were important in his life. Dad was an avid and skilled hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his many travels. He received his 50 year jewel from the Stonewall Masonic Lodge and was a long-time member of the Odd Fellows. He served several terms on the Stonewall town council and over 25 years on the Stonewall Hospital Board. Dad and his snow plane delivered Dr. Evelyn through many wintery stormy nights to deliver babies and to attend to medical emergencies. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Robert and May Larcombe; Amy the mother of his four children; Kemy; and three of his sisters, Edith, Olive and Evelyn. Left to mourn his death and cherish his memory his children, Bob (Irene) Larcombe (Doug and Diane) Shirley (Ken) Blight (Pat, Pam and Todd) Donna (Dick) Friesen (Rick, Lori, Janelle and Tanis) Audrey (Tom) McGimpsey (Donna Lynne, Kelly and Brian) and Maureen Scott. Carrying on the Larcombe line are 23 great-grandchildren. Charlie is also survived by his siblings, Phyllis, Bob, Gladys, Myrtle (Alf) and Gord (Elaine) and numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his good friends, Harold and Lavina Bugg. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the Stonewall United Church, Rev. Mary Best will officiate with interment to follow in the Stonewall Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Doug Larcombe, Pat Blight, Todd Blight, Brian McGimpsey, granddaughter Donna Lynne Kleisinger and grandson-in-law John Mergulhao. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to Rosewood Lodge Stonewall, or to a charity of ones choice. The family wish to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Rosewood Lodge for the very special care they gave our Dad. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
