DOROTHY HELEN MARTYN (nee ARNOLD) Dorothy passed away on March 16, 2002 at 9:25 p.m. at Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home on Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. She died peacefully, with her children close by, after a long illness with Alzheimers. She is survived by her daughter Mary Helen; sons, Howard Lorne (Elaine) and Thomas Arnold; grandchildren, Rebecca and Victoria. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Dr. Ellwood Martyn (D.V.M.), (1965) son Glen Ellwood, (1985) and brother Thomas Arnold (1998). Dorothy was born in Toronto on November 16, 1918. She met Ellwood while he was studying at Guelph Veterinary College. They were married in Saskatoon in 1951 and moved to Winnipeg in the spring of 1952. Dorothy was keenly interested in antiquing, as well as caring for her four children. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 20 at Leatherdale Gardiner, 232 Kennedy St., Winnipeg, followed by a reception at Leatherdale Gardiner and interment in St. Vital Cemetery.
