LEO BOURBONNAIS With deep sadness, we announce the passing on March 16, 2002 of Leo Roderick Bourbonnais at the age of 85. His wife Edna in 1988, as well as sisters, Elizabeth and Leon; and brother Lucien predeceased Leo. Leo will be remembered lovingly by his three children, Denise Bourdon of Kelowna, Louise Bourbonnais of Kelowna, and Roger (Doffy) Bourbonnais of Kamloops; grandchildren, Paul, Rocky, Jeffery, Allison, Debra, Jenine and Marne; as well as great-grand-children, Vicki, Taylor, Demara, and Kennedy. He also leaves behind sisters, Lorraine Williams, Yolande (Mike) Genthon; and brothers, Louis (June) Bourbonnais, John Bourbonnais, F. Denis Bourbonnais, and Philippe Bourbonnais. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins will also remember Leo with fondness. Leo was born in Winnipeg, MB on June 28, 1916. An employee of Air Canada for 34 years, Leo joined the company in Winnipeg in 1941 when it was called Trans Canada Airlines. When he accepted a transfer west in 1950, Leo and Edna moved their young family to Vancouver where they lived until Leos retirement after 34 years. Upon retirement, Leo and Edna relocated to their roots in Manitoba, spending the winter months in Arizona. Leo was well known for his kindness and patience. He was happiest when surrounded by his family at the lake and he especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren and watching them grow. One of Leos favourite pastimes was repairing and recycling old machinery. Leo could fix anything and spent many contented hours tinkering with his many ongoing projects. Over his lifetime, Leo looked forward to his annual bird hunting trips with his brothers and would entertain the family the following year with the missed shots stories. Leo will remain in our hearts as he touched us all in so many different ways. Leos funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20 at St. Patricks Church, 168 Worth St., Winnipeg. Reception to follow at the parish hall.
