PHYLLIS D. RUTLEDGE B.F.A. (nee ROBERTSON) At her residence on March 19, 2002 Phyllis Dorothy, beloved wife for 58 years of Ed and mother of Bob and Dorothy passed away. She is also survived by her brother Fred; sister Kathleen and their families. Phyllis was born in October 1922 and lived all her life in Winnipeg. She graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1975 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a diploma in Education in 1976. Phyllis was a life member of the Winnipeg Sketch Club. She also was a member of the Manitoba Society of Artists and the North Star Watercolor Society of Minneapolis. Phyllis exhibited extensively and won many awards for her artwork. She was a well known art teacher at the U. of M., the Forum Art Institute and other art facilities. Phyllis was a founding member of the Medea Gallery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mike Harlos for his compassionate support in Phyllis last hours at home. Thanks to all the Home Care workers who were involved with mom. A private family viewing will take place Friday evening. A memorial service will be conducted by the Reverend Gordon Dixon on Saturday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey St. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Phyllis memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
