Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER MICHAEL MILLER 1921 - 2002 Peacefully with his family by his side, Alexander Michael Miller passed safely into the hands of another carpenter. Born in Winnipeg on September 29, 1921, Alex lived and shared the magic of his life for over 80 years. Honey, dad, poppa, Alex - he was known by many names and filled the hearts of many people. His kindness and generosity - of time, talent, and goodwill - was shared on a daily basis. Always eager to help, he gave and gave and gave. His loving wife and best friend, Edith Marguerite Grant, knew he was the man for her, and from 15 years of age their lives were intertwined. Married for 58 years, Alex and Edith created quite a legacy. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Edith; daughter Trudy Hansford and her children, Valerie, Blair, and Cindy; son Brian and his family, Marlene, Nicole, and Lindsay; Neil and Stacey Miller along with their children, Hallie and Alexander Michael (his name sake) and his daughter Wendy Joy Miller. Alex considered his extended family of Grants and Linneys as his brothers and sisters, and was always very proud to be part of the clan. He will be sorely missed by everyone in his family as well as by all of his friends. There were three passions in Alexs life - his family, his work, and his time at the lake. His family time was spent in the Whiteshell at Dorothy Lake where he loved to ski and be by the water. As a fine finishing cabinet maker, Alex couldnt wait to get to work and create. At 22 years of age he designed and built the family home, where he lived until his passing. He created heirlooms for many that will be passed with great affection and pride from generation to generation. Alex loved to read and through his books live life as cowboy or as a detective. He also loved music and all the four legged creatures who followed him anywhere and everywhere he went. A proud and honourable man, Alex was respected by everyone who knew him. His ethics and integrity were never questioned. His commitment and dedication were second to none. His quick wit and great smile will remain imprinted in our hearts and minds. Unforgettable, thats what you are. We will forever miss you. As an expression of sympathy, friends or family may make a memorial donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. Flowers are gratefully declined. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. in Klassen Funeral Chapel. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
