KATHLEEN MARGARET SKINNER Peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at the Hunter Memorial Hospital, Teulon, Kathleen Skinner, aged 88 years of Teulon, MB. Born February 28, 1914 at Teulon, she had lived on the family homestead all her life. Kathleen trained for nursing at Selkirk General Hospital and became a RN in 1939. She married Ben Skinner in 1940 and farmed near Teulon at the "Home Place" where she grew up. After the birth of her three children, she nursed at Teulon Hospital until retirement. In later years she enjoyed many tours, with New Zealand being her favourite. She was predeceased by her husband Ben in 1998, by her parents, WJ and Katie Campbell and sisters, Harriet, Annie, Frances, and Lily. Kathleen was an avid gardener loving her flowers. She loved to travel be it by camper, bus, or plane; she loved animals especially dogs and horses; she knit many socks and made many afghans; she enjoyed painting and wood carving in later years. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren. Surviving to mourn her loss two sons and one daughter, Donna and husband Bruce Bond, John and wife Sandy, Doug and wife Bonnie, all of Teulon; five grandchildren, Rod, Scott (Angele) and Sherry Skinner, Lesley and Clair Bond; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Rev. Ken Anstie and Rev. Barbara Ann Bryant-Anstie will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dundas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rod Skinner, Scott Skinner, Sherry Skinner, Angele Skinner, Clair Bond, and Lesley Bond. All friends are to consider themselves honorary pallbearers. The family wish to express sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Hunter Memorial Hospital for their excellent care and friendship. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Teulon United Church or to the Hunter Memorial Hospital, Teulon. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
