BERNADETTE McDOUGALL Peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2002 at the Victoria General Hospital, Bernadette McDougall passed away at the age of 77 years. Bernadette was a well respected elder at Wasagamack First Nation and was loved by everyone. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her children, Josie (Theresa), Samuel (Yvonne), Agnes (Leo), Angus (Effie), Wilfred (Annette), Murdo and Paula (Kenneth) special grandchildren, Alex (Linda), Rocky Andy (Josephine) and Cheryl, whom she raised as her own; mother Amelia Monias of St. Theresa Point; six brothers and one sister. There are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Johnny McDougall and in-laws Stanley and Martha McDougall of Wasagamack and daughter-in-law Debita. Prayers were said on Friday, March 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. at Parr, Winnipeg. Wake services will be held on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 at Wasagamack. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 25 at 12 noon at Wasagamack Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Laroche officiating. Interment to follow at Wasagamack Cemetery. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Central Park Lodge, 440 Edmonton St., and also to the I.C.U. at the Victoria General Hospital, and to all the people who got to know her as a friend.
