VIRUZZA NIGRO (nee PRINCIPE) Peacefully, following a brief illness, it is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Viruzza Nigro with her family by her side on Friday, March 22, 2002 at the Grace General Hospital. Viruzza will be lovingly remembered by her children, Luisa (Alberto) Santagata, Dina (Danny) DaSilva, Nilda (Enzo) Signorile, Elia (Ernesto) Ronzone; grandchildren, Veronica (Pete), Ester, Claudia (Troy), Gianna (Ken), Mario, Marianna, John, Jamie, Raffaele; great-grandchild Michela; numerous nieces and nephews and many, many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Vincenzo Nigro in 1978. Viruzza was born January 6, 1917 in Lappano, Cosenza and came to Canada in 1965. She was a hard worker and always had a smile for you. Viruzza was the best Mom and Nanna, putting her family first. Prayers will be said on Sunday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 25 at 10:30 a.m., also in the church, with Rev. Father Michael Raj Savarimuthu presiding. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers will be Mario Ronzone, John DaSilva, Jamie DaSilva, Raffaele Signorile, Ken Nadolny, and Pete McMullen. The family would like to thank all the staff at Grace General Hospital.
