MARGARETE HILL Sadly on Thursday, March 21, 2002 Margarete Hill, aged 89, passed away at Tuxedo Villa. Margarete was predeceased by her husband Sam Hill and her parents, John and Mary Adamson. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Marilyne of Bristol, England, Sam (Rita) of Ottawa, ON, Robert (Arleen) of Winnipeg, Peggy of Sylvan Lake, AB, and John (Audrey) of Medicine Hat, AB; sisters, Jenny of Seattle, Nellie of Surrey, BC, Mazie of California and Teenie (Jim) of Lockport; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Born in Scotland, Margarete came to Canada as a baby with her parents. She attended Daniel MacIntyre in Winnipeg, and in 1932 married her husband Sam. Margarete enjoyed her many years spent at the family cottage at Falcon Lake. Margarete was a member of the Grant Memorial Baptist Church for over fifty years, serving as a Deconess, President of the Womens Missionary Society, as well as a member of Wycliff Missions. She was one of the original members of the Golden Echo Seniors Choir. She was always so caring and giving and will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Bird River Bible Camp or Wycliff Missions, in care of Grant Memorial Baptist Church, 877 Wilkes Ave., Winnipeg, R3P 1B8 or a charity of ones choice. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m., at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, 877 Wilkes Ave. Visitation will take place one-half hour prior to the service time. A reception will follow at the church. Margarete will be laid to rest in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens with her husband Sam.
