Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ETHYL STEWART Mary Ethyl was born the third child of Thomas Clyde and Minnie Jane (nee Russett) Wilson on July 13, 1914 in Hargrave, MB. In 1919, the family moved to Kelwood, MB. Following high school, Ethyl trained as a psychiatric nurse at Brandon Mental Hospital graduating in 1936. She worked as a registered psychiatric nurse until her marriage to Clifford Joseph Stewart on September 15, 1937. Ethyl cherished her friendship with nursing classmates and colleagues and kept in touch with many of these folks throughout the rest of her life. Cliff and Ethyl settled on the Stewart farm and raised their four children, Duane, Morris, Lynne and Wendy, there. Ethyl moved to the village of Kelwood in 1990 where she resided until her illness in July, 2001. In November, 2001, Ethyl moved to Minnedosa Personal Care Home. Family will always remember Moms courage, strength and her unconditional love for us. She was always there for us. Mom always made the best of any situation. She was a pillar of strength. "Mom is another word for love." A proud member of the Kelwood community, Ethyl believed strongly in being involved and giving back to her community. She was a faithful and devout member of St. Johns Anglican Church and over the years assisted with Sunday School, A.C.W. and the vestry. Ethyl was a member of the Kelwood Legion Branch No.50 and a life member of the Kelwood Ladies Legion Auxiliary and the Kelwood Agricultural Society. She enjoyed her involvement in the 4-H program, the Womens Institute group and the Senior Citizens activities. Ethyl was a talented crafter and was well known for her love of knitting and crocheting. Ethyl enjoyed life and loved people. Many family gatherings were held at the Stewart farm. Ethyl was always happy to be surrounded by family and friends, old and new. She lived by her motto, "Give to the world the best you have". With family by her side, Ethyl passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2002. A celebration of Ethyls life will be held at St. Johns Anglican Church on Saturday, March 30 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. James Bardsley will officiate. Arrangements are with Dobchuk Funeral Home. Ethyl was predeceased by her husband Clifford; parents, Tom and Minnie Wilson; sister Roxie Ennis; brother Fawcett and infant brother Charles Francis and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. To cherish the memories she leaves, she is survived by sons, Duane (Fern), Morris (Eileen) daughters, Lynne (Garry) Tolton, Wendy (Don) Thiessen; five grandchildren whom she was extremely proud of and loved so very much, Curt (Kim) Stewart, Erin (Trevor) Remple, Kendra and Kent Tolton and Stewart Thiessen; a loving great-granddaughter Kyla Stewart; special brother Morris (Verna) Wilson; sisters-in-law, Eloise Stewart, Rowena (Wib) McCracken; brother-in-law Norman (Carol) Stewart; two step-grandchildren, Holly (Don) Morrison, Robin (Judy) Baldwin and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Building Fund, St. Johns Anglican Church, Kelwood. Always in Our Hearts Rest in Peace
