Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAURICE WALTER KARPINKA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Karpinka, aged 91 years on Monday, March 25, 2002 at Victoria Hospital. He was predeceased by his loving wife Anne in 1994; brothers, Philip and Eugene and sister Eva. Walter is survived by his daughter Joan (Ronald) Stupen; granddaughter Lisa all of Toronto; sister Julia Sukaylo of Calgary; nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Victoria Hospital. Special thanks to the staff at Norberry House at the Rosewood Village for all their care, support and kindness. Walter worked as an upholsterer during his early career and later started a grocery store business with his wife Anne, which they operated successfully for 17 years prior to his retirement. He worked hard but still managed to pursue a keen interest in coin collection and enjoyed his many visits at the cottage at Brereton Lake. In retirement Walter was an avid gardener and enjoyed visits with family and friends, and more recently the friendships he formed at Norberry House. He especially enjoyed the visits from his good friend Don Stupen. According to Dads wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Flowers gratefully declined, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Walters memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3B 3H8.
