Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKARL RICHARD DRANEZ On Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Concordia General Hospital, Karl Dranez, beloved husband of Erika, died at the age of 70 years. Besides his wife of 45 years of marriage, he is survived by Edward (Betty) son Nathan; Hermann (Susan) children, Shane, Derek, Desiree; son Robert; Karyn (Dale) Jennifer and Jessica; Monika (David), Brittney, Sabrina and Jasmine. Karl is also survived by his mother Olga Danilow, brother Frank (Emma) Dranez, sister Tamara Litchke. His father Richard predeceased him. Karl first met Erika in 1955 on the ship Neptunia, where both were headed for a new life in Canada. Marriage followed and they settled down in Winnipeg to raise their family together. Music was very important to Karl. He was self-taught and never backed down from a challenge, be it a new instrument or task at hand. He loved the outdoors, fishing and camping with his family. Karls family was central to anything he did. Always offering assistance or encouragement. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. The family wishes to thank Dr. Harris and the nursing staff on the third floor of Concordia General Hospital. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 370 McKenzie, with Pastor Bill Lahman officiating. Viewing and prayer service will be held on Sunday, March 31 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. If friends desire, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3C 9Z9. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
