Surviving are her loving family, Stephen (Roswitha) Dudar, Cheryl (Robert) Moffat, and her cherished grandson Nicholas. Also left to mourn are her siblings, Violet Jensen and Rupert (Stella) Chmelowski and numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her husband Nick Dudar; her parents, Steve and Nellie Chmelowski; brother Cedric Chmelowski and sister Eva Hlady. Doris was born August 2, 1932 in Pine River, MB. She attended Normal School in Winnipeg and returned to the Pine River area to teach. She taught until she was swept off her feet by the saxophone playing Nick Dudar. They married in 1954, and lived in Ethelbert and Winnipeg before starting a successful Macleods Hardware store in Benito, which they ran together for 35 years. She continued to run the store for 11 more years until her passing. Doris was heavily involved within the community serving on numerous committees and service organizations.
